I must confess, I've always been a bit of a sceptic when it comes to allergies. It seems to me that more and more of us are becoming 'allergic' to all sorts of things - pollen, nuts, wheat, diary, or in my case, housework. What can I say? It brings me out in a cold sweat.
Still, with an alledged four in ten UK school children now having an allergic condition, I suppose the time has come to get clued up.
For ignorant cynics like me, this guide from Need2Know books is perfect. It's a straighforward introduction to all things allergic, with advice on spotting symptoms, getting a diagnosis and potential treatments.
The book covers all the bases - from dealing with serious medical emergencies to the use of complimentary therapies. So if you want to get to know your kids' sneezes, this could just be the book for you.
